Step by step dimensions and materials used in the construction of slide gate in video.
1. End posts; 4"x 4"x 0.120 H.S.T 20' tube. $5.50/ft purchased at local steel supply 05/2018
Posts set in concrete 36" deep. Exposed post 7 ft height. Top plates welded on for weatherproof.
2. Gate frame material; 2"x 3" x 0.120 H.S.T. 56 ft tube. $3.00/ft local steel supply 10/2019
3. Lumber; 6 - 2x4"x8ft kiln dried whitewood, 30 1x6"x6ft Dogear fence boards. Home Depot
Box of 2" Torx drive outdoor screws.
4. Vtrack; 12GA GALV VTRACK 20ft lengths. 40ft total. $45/ea. $90 total. local steel supply 10/2019
5. Concrete; 31 cuft. 52 80lb bags. Home Depot $3.90/bag 05/2018 Ended up using about 35 bags for footing. Length of footing shortened from 28' to 24' for gate roller inset. Mixed with electric barrel mixer.
6. Reinforcing rebar; 100' of 1/2" and 3/8" rebar scrap on hand.

Total project cost without labor was about $1000. Estimated cost to hire this level of project to completion would be between $5000-$10,000.
Total project time to completion; about 2 weeks at 8 hr/day including acquisition of materials.
